The climate conditions and soil properties from this region allow for trees to develop ideal resonance and sonic qualities. Only the finest wood will do, so master luthiers carefully choose each and every piece for the cello. Then once it's selected, aged, and seasoned, they meticulously craft the instrument using traditional centuries-old techniques. Accomplished flutist Qian Ni founded Eastman in 1992 after graduating from the Boston University School of Music.
